Episode 7 alive and kicking! 7/29/2011

Here I am!

Well, well, well. Where the hell have I been? Among other things, I HAVE been working on the series.

The trick was that I had to stage a huge scene that would stretch across the three remaining episodes. Therefore that footage has to be shot before any of those 3 episodes can be released.

Well good news! We are shooting that scene this Sunday! Along with some other scenes.

This sunday should be the last say of filming, barring any pick up shots I will need.

What all this means is this: the episodes in all likelihood, will start to be released this month!

So hang on fans, you will see the end soon!

News Update 5/09/2011

Hey Hey, zombie fans!

A couple of things:

1.  Episode 6 is out now and demands to be seen! That's what it told me.
     Here it is!

2.  It turns out I have more story to tell than can fit in one more episode.  So the season is getting 3 more!
      A total of 10 episodes!

That comes at a small price: I will need more time.  There will probably not be another episode in 2 weeks.  But I will announce that a 3-part finale will be coming this summer!  Excitement, go!

I hope this mixed bag of news is mostly good.  Hang in there and we'll get you more zombies ASAP!

News update- 05/02/2011

Aaaaaaaaaallll right! I am currently working on episode 6. Things are coming together nicely. I shot some pick ups Sunday that were just what I needed. I have one other thing to shoot and it'll be complete.

I've already started sound work and other things, so never fear! I'm right on track.

Stay tuned for the release of Episode 6 on Monday, May 9th, along with a special surprise announcement concerning the series!

News update 04/07/2011

My rough cut of episode 4s music is complete. I'm using Video Co-pilots Pro Scores so it's really just a matter of finding elements that I think fit. I'm more building music than creating it. But it works.

Sometimes finding stuff I like is hard, but today it came together pretty easily, for which I'm grateful.

So in short, Episode 4 is on track for release on Monday the 11th.

Hope that excited someone out there. Ha ha ha.

So many sound fx..

Here's the thing about sound work. You are only making the noises people already expect to hear. So as I insert my outdoor bird noises and wind and footsteps and grabbing the phone.... I realize that if I do a good job, no one will notice! Uhg. Good thing I love doing this!

Episode 4 has lots of sound work. Enjoy the flapping birds when you hear them.

News Update 4/4/2011

This is cool!

The French zombie website Tuez Les Tous totally surprised me today (it's been a few days actually) by writing an article on the web series.  I had no knowledge of this so it was pretty cool to stumble upon.  Their review was a little harsh but in the end they recommended it... at least enough to do a write up on it.  

In other news, my whole day was consumed with working on the sound to episode 4.  the episode is about 85% complete, with some crash course shooting to be done on Sunday (should still be released Monday tho)

I also shoot some footage for episode 6 which turned out great.  There will be one reeeeeally ambitious shot with a lot of FX that could look silly is not convincing.... I left myself room to get out of using that shot but I may roll with it; its silly fun.

So mark down Monday the 11th as when the apocalypse continues.

News update 4/02/2011

I'm mobile now. So now I have no excuse to be a slacker.

Anyway, filming on Episode 6 is starting tomorrow with some preliminary photography. After that, some catch up shooting for episode 4, which is still on track for Monday the 11th. Episode 5 is tentatively scheduled for April 16th depending on my busy actors schedules. Even with that nutty schedule, everything should roll out on time.

I will be scrambling, but you just relax and watch the final products roll out.

News update- 3/25/2011

Howdy!

The silence does not mean there has been no work going on, never fear!
Episode 3 is set to premiere on Monday, March 28.  So mark that down!

Also, I have read a few books put out by Permuted Press (all of which deal with zombie, and are good) and noticed that their slogan is in fact, Enjoy the Apocalypse.  Oops.  So I will find a new sign off.  Any suggestions?

News update- 3/8/1011

Hi!

Well good news:  Episode 2 is locked down and on track for release.  It will be available to watch on March 14th.  So make a note!

Episode 3 is final on sound so now I turn my attention to the music.  That and credits and it'll be done.

Episode 4 is about 90% shot with some prelim sound work in place.  I'm fully confident that it is on track to release after Episode 3 at the current release schedule.

Episode 5's script is complete.  Storyboards will be drawn up soon.

Episode 6's script is about 50% complete, which works out good due to some news that I got.  I believe that the path it will have to take will make a very memorable episode.

Episode 7 (the finale) is in the idea stage.  I know what I want to do with it, but I got to plan it all out.

So there is the rundown for the remainder of the season!  Stick with it and I will try not to let you down!

News update- 3/2/1011

Hi all!

The site and first episode has been up for a day and the feedback has been remarkable!  Lots of kind words and compliments.  The guys over at inevitable zombie apocalypse put the site on their daily news blast and had some nice things to say about it.  Big thanks to them.

I'm putting the finishing touches on episode 2 and should have it up in a week or so.  So hang tight and we will see how the next random person has their first zombie encounter!

Welcome!  I'm still putting the finishing touches on the website and uploading and such.  I'm actually writing this before I even have my hosting in place, but excited to get this project off the ground!
